Important Events of Blitz:

The 57 Fatal Nights The night-time attacks that followed the first one were just as tragic and deadly. For about two months, the air raids were a nightly occurrence. Britain attempted counterattacking these assaults using antiaircraft guns and fighter planes, but were sadly unsuccessful. Between September and November, London was hit with almost 30,000 bombs, and just in the first 30 days, almost 6,000 people were killed and twice as many badly injured. ("The Blitz")

The End (May 7, 1941) The Blitz finally came to an end in May 1941. Germany made this decision based off of their heavy losses, it being clear that the goals of the Blitz could not be achieved, and most importantly because Hitler redirected his military to the East to fight against the Soviet Union. Even the Luftwaffe did not have enough men or aircrafts to fight a maximum effort campaign on two widely separated fronts. (Cosgrave)
