"Blitzing"
Blitz (noun) : a sudden, energetic, and concerted effort, typically on a specific task.
Blitzing in Football Due to the Blitz being the name for Germany's sudden attempt to take down Britain, blitzing has become a term used to describe a football tactic with a similar idea. Blitzing is a high risk, high reward strategy used by a defensive unit. One player other than a defensive line member will attempt to apply pressure on the quarterback, which usually will create a gap in the offensive line. Players that are effective in blitzing will then use this gap as a route to tackle the quarterback, causing either a sack or errant pass. Teams can choose to blitz one or more players during a play, typically resulting in at least five or more players striving for the same goal, to reach the quarterback. However, if the blitz is unsuccessful, there is higher likelihood of a completed pass due to the lack of defense players on the pass protection. ("Blitz Definition - Sporting Charts")
