Germany's Greed for Total Domination Britain stood between Germany having complete dominance over Western Europe, leading Hitler to target Britain as the next nation to fall victim to Germany. In order to defeat Britain, Germany had to weaken Britain's forces, which was the intent of the Blitz. Hitler and his country hoped the strategically placed bombings of the Blitz would destroy Britain's defenses, such as their infrastructure. Germany also highly anticipated that their air strikes would turn Britain's working class against their upper class leaders, causing a revolution. In the end, Germany wanted Britain's lack of protection and order to make their country extremely vulnerable, creating a much easier invasion across the English channel.
